Ensuing Battle

hen buying a house, especially in this market and financial times, would you ever think you might have to go to battle with other buyers over the same house? Well ladies and gents we have been negotiating with the FDIC, yes you read that correct, the FDIC over the purchase of a foreclosed home. And today we get the terrible news that another buyer has submitted an offer. Can you add to my stress level please, I'm not sure it is enough with buying a home cross country sight unseen {insert further sarcasm}. As of right now the other buyer's offer is not as good as ours, and we are preparing to go to battle with them if needed. We have agreed to the last offer between the FDIC and us, but now we wait. Buyers have been advised to submit their best offer to the FDIC's agent. So back to the waiting game we go. Our fingers are crossed. I just keep reminding myself to breathe.

Playing Catch Up

oday I decided it would be best to start a blog about our new journey in life. You know one of those times in your life you want to remember every aspect of? The husband and I have been toying with the idea of moving back south for a couple of years now. This past Christmas we started setting it all in motion; as we visited family we determined our lives in California were lacking the very important details that make us truly happy—family and friends.

So during May we started shopping, house shopping that is. We determined that we wanted to live within easy driving range of both of our families, yet fulfill our dream of living at the beach. Who hasn't ever dreamed of living at the beach? I know I have ever since I was toddler and took my first trip to the white sands and turquoise waters of Panama City Beach, FL. I can still remember sitting along the shore, shifting the sand to find treasures such a clams and crabs. Some of my fondest memories in life are from my visits to the gulf coast. I get teary eyed just thinking about the excitement that over comes me when driving to the coast and the first smell of the salt air hits me. It is beyond the excitement of Christmas morning for me.

So this little blog shall become a journal of sorts for us to record our journey. It is scary and stressful what we are attempting to do? Sure. Moving cross country is never an easy task. But when you are chasing a dream it all seems to be easier to deal the stress, it is self induced after all.

Hopefully this blog turns into a journal of living the life we dream about living, one that involves our home, family, old & new friends, and of course the beach.
